Unseen

Year:

2022

"Unseen", is a proposed public art installation at Philosophers Walk, that is designed to pay homage to the buried Taddle Creek. Designed for the hollowed site by Michael Hough, it features 14 semi-transparent panels hanging from trees, depicting Lake Ontario's waters. The panels, in black and white, mimic waves, blending past and present. The semi-transparency of the panels serves as a metaphorical lens, inviting viewers to peer through time. As one beholds the evocative images of Lake Ontario, the faint outlines of the contemporary landscape emerge, creating a dialogue between the ethereal presence of Taddle Creek's essence and the palpable reality of the current site. Installed for a month from July, "Unseen" invites all ages to experience this temporal reverie in the downtown core. Unseen seeks to spark a conversation between history and contemporary life at the heart of Taddle Creek's legacy.
